Agroecological development of technologies adoption and the plant health extension inthe agrarian systems of Cuba

Abstract

The plant health in Cuba, from their organization like a national system in the year 1973, it developed amodel characteristic of education, technical advice and adoption of new technologies directed to all thetypes of farmers; the one that, of course, chord has transformed to the changes happened in theagricultural scenarios of the country from the years ninety, with a tendency toward the handlingagroecological of pests. In fact, work has intended presently, in tight synthesis, to characterize thedevelopment of the phytosanitary extension a in Cuba and its main impacts, as well as the new model'sresults that it is built. For they were facilitated it exercises in five shops, carried out in the years 2003-2006, with the participation of specialists of the different counties of the country. It is demonstrated thata social important contribution has taken place, when guaranteeing employment to more than seventhousand people, to establish new entities of service in the agricultural areas and to develop newphytosanitaries technologies within reach of the technicians and the farmers of the country, as well as aagroecological model of pest managements has been developed in the different cultivations.
