Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the linguistic-discursive characteristics which represent the inscription of persons in four texts about human cloning. These features are related to the textual function of the sequences in which they appear. The general results reveal that two of the analyzed features have a high frequency of occurrence. These features are the expression of the author’s attitude and the inscription of other agents in the text. Furthermore, the textual sequences whose predominant focus is argumentative are characterized by a high presence of the following linguistic-discursive marks: first person marks, author’s attitude marks, inscription of other agents and voices, and expert addressee marks. Moreover, sequences with explanatory predominant focus display low frequency of these kinds of marks. Therefore, it is possible to infer that the type of textual sequence seems to have an important impact on the distribution of the analyzed features.
