Abstract

This work present a questionof urban systems can be studied from the literary systems. In a point of view of the city can be read as literary text, it makes the interposition between the literary systems and urban narrative structures. From the texts written about the city and the city read as text, it can recognize the utopian traits and mythical that remain throughout history, questioning the foundational urban structures. Therefore, we analyze the man's dominion over the space, from the work of Thomas Morus, Utopia. Conversely, we present the works where there is the domain space on man, as in New Babylon, Constant Nieuwenhuys, 1969, within the situationist experiences ”“ Situationist International - vanguard of the twentieth century. Thus would speculate them impacts on the displacement of the narrative structure of some literary genres for reading the city.
