Abstract

Attilio Correa Lima, architect and city planner of the modern generation, had his formation in the molds of the aca-demicism of the National School of Fine Arts. The project he elaborated for Goiania, analyzed in its morphologic and sym-bolic aspects, enlightens his idealized tracing of the years 1932 to 1935, a period in which he was leading the elaboration of the plans and the workmanships. Correa Lima is known for urban interventions in the beginning of the 20th century in Brazilian cities - such as Goiania, Recife and Volta Redonda ”” as well as for the modernist project of the Station for Hydro-planes in Rio de Janeiro.
