This paper presents an in-depth analysis of the NForeign Language National Curriculum (FLNC), aiming at highlighting the document's principal explicit and implicit theoretical lines and how these lines interact with each other in an attempt to establish a theoretical convergence. Additionally, the analysis attempts to uncover a possible conflict between the theory and the foreseen practice in the FLNC. The discussion focuses mainly on the implications of the analysis for foreign language teaching today.
