Remarks on the Historical and Religious in Kierkegaard and Wittgenstein

This paper aims at showing an approximation between Kierkegaard and Wittgenstein regarding the distinction between historical narrative and religious narrative. While the historical narrative would present a verifiable truth, the religious narrative would bring a truth grasped by faith. Faith in this contexto it would not require proof, but acceptance of the message, i.e, a statement could be false and would still continue be accepted by belief. Kierkegaard and Wittgenstein would thus defend not only an abyss between reason and faith, but also the impossibility of finding in historical demonstrations and proofs a way of justifying the relgious belief.
