ALTERNATIVE POETIC CATEGORIES TO THE IDEA OF BAROQUE

This essay presents the following three categories explored in Early Modern treatises – wit, artifice and decorum – which can provide alternative historical verisimilars for the understanding of works usually described by the anachronistic term Baroque.
