Seis meses depois de ter se aventurado no país das maravilhas, Alice brinca com suas gatinhas enquanto a neve cai lá do lado de fora da janela. Ela faz de conta que o espelho é um portal e ao atravessá-lo Alice entra num mundo bem improvável.
Alice through the looking-glass and what Alice found there foi publicado pela primeira vez em 1872, sete anos após Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, mas foi escrito como continuação da primeira trama. Um grupo composto por quatro mulheres é responsável pela publicação de Alice através do espelho e o que ela encontrou lá (2015): a editora Juliana Lopes Bernardino, a tradutora (e também editora) Cynthia Beatrice Costa, a revisora de tradução Camila Artoni Gough e a designer Marcela Fehrenbach. Cada uma delas tem um espaço de fala ”“ ou de escrita ”“ nos quais descrevem um pouco do processo editorial em notas de início do livro. O espaço dedicado a elas já revela algo sobre o estilo que a Editora Poetisa vem imprimindo em suas publicações.
