In this paper, I intend to outline a characterization of the legal response of the Mexican State to the demands in Indigenous Law as context to offer a first approximation to the thematic and agreements of the Indigenous Law and Culture Bureau in Chiapas, The framework of the negotiation of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation -EZLN- and the Federal Government. With the installation of this table, a new stage was opened in the complex process towards the legal order of diversity. This experience, unprecedented in more than one sense, will be analyzed from the legal point of view, without eluding certain political precisions, we will delve into the content of the debates and positions, leaving for other spaces the analysis of the political strategy of the parties in the dialogue.
