Abstract

By the time this text is being concluded, 70,604 people have died in Mexico in official numbers by COVID-19, bringing the country, in absolute numbers, the fourth place of death for this cause in the world, after the United States (198,542), Brazil (131,663), and India (79,784). On the other hand, Mexico is the first country in the world because of the number of deaths among health personnel: 1,320. 2 This is extremely serious. How did we get to this point?
