In this article I show some of the tensions and questions of the search for missing persons that I find relevant to discuss, from two ways of conceiving the search: the humanitarian and the legal. I present its characteristics, putting the center of gravity in the first to show that, although they have been constructed in a separate and exclusive way, this is a false dilemma that should be deconstructed. I base my affirmations in the work of accompaniment and collaborative research that I have developed over the last two years with collectives and relatives in search within the framework of my membership of the Research Group in Social and Forensic Anthropology (GIASF). To that extent, the reflections that I will share in this presentation have an important nutritional vein of a collective nature; Your limitations are my responsibility only.
