Sociotechnical networks: access to information and internet policies

This work aims to present the theoretical principles regarding the use of the Internet as a means of accessing information in sociotechnical networks. It is characterized as a descriptive research developed from a bibliographical review that favored the observation that there are socio-technical networks composed of humans and non-humans and that use the Internet as a means of accessing information. Sociotechnical networks are made up of technological, social and cultural elements that interact in an interconnected and interdependent way given by human interaction with technology. Internet policies are related to the rules, standards and regulations for using the network. In contemporary times, connections are built with greater engagement, ease and sharing through cyberspace. And this reality only becomes possible with the help of connected digital tools. Sociotechnical networks proliferate through conferences, partnerships, data and information crossing, mergers, etc. With the study method, scientific articles in the area of Information Science and social technologies for the Internet were analyzed based on repositories in the area, such as the Information Science Journal Database – Brapci, considering the last 10 years. It is concluded from this study that there is a need to have an adequate architecture and/or infrastructure for the implementation of socio-technical networks, with public policies for access and use of information and effective communication to meet contemporary demands, as recommended the Federal Constitution (1988). Only in this way can powerful socio-technical networks be built equitably with the help of the Internet and its digital devices.
