Abstract

In this work, we present a series of activities on flotation developed during a workshop for multi-subject teachers of the fifth-grade elementary school in the Sobral municipal network, Ceará. The workshop was part of a series of meetings to prepare teachers to develop and implement teaching sequences based on the IDEIA Science curriculum, built on progressions of big ideas and science and engineering practices. In this article, we share a sequence of activities involving the performance expectations of 5th graders on body density from the sub-axis "Matter and Energy - structure and properties of matter" to make the transposition of the science teaching vision proposed in the curriculum accessible to educators in the classroom.
