Abstract

The three main approaches to the study of the intelligence
(psychometric, developmental and cognitive) were analysed according to
their theoretical and methodological aspects and to their practical implications.
The authors emphasize the limits of these three different perspectives
in which the concept of intelligence is an universal and generic notion
without the influences of social and cultural aspects. They also point out
that a characterization of intelligence as independent of these aspects is a
misunderstood conception of its function and meaning.
