Abstract

International migrations are part of the global agenda, and both public and private international law are called upon to respond to the various interests of international society. Public international law responds through the adoption of international human rights instruments, such as refugees and asylum. Private international law (PIL), for its part, is responsible for resolving conflicts related to transnational families and cross-border workers that involve migrants and refugees. The objective of this study is to present the state of the art in the intersections among sustainable development goalsn the (SDGs)_, PIL, and international migration. This research will focus on two main points: transnational family and transnational labor rights, and their connections with SDGs 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 16 and 17. This article uses the qualitative method with a review of the doctrine on the subject and the application of international standards, including analysis of jurisprudence. The methodological approach adopted will demonstrate that PIL must take into account the differences between refugees and voluntary migrants’ treatments, from a Latin American perspective
