Keywords:
Bolivia. Movimiento al Socialismo. People's organization.Abstract
The article analyses the transformations occurred in Bolivia during the last decade, pondering on the importance of the different social sectors that were mobilized against the neoliberal measures, and highlighting the role of the organized native and indigenous peoples who emerge politically in this period. It aims to portray the construction process of an alternative power based on the indigenous organization, on the force won by the coca growers and on the “Confederación Sindical Única de Trabajadores Campesinos de Bolivia”, that contributed for the electoral triumph of the “Movimiento al Socialismo” that elected president Evo Morales. Lastly, it highlights the importance of the “Central Obrera Boliviana”, particularly of the miners movement organized by the “Federación Sindical de Trabajadores Mineros de Bolivia” that promoted the "Guerra del Gas", in October 2003 and that ended up being underestimated by the dominant political views within the "Movimiento al Socialismo".
