Keywords:
Argentina. Republic. Populism. Menen Government.Abstract
This article aims to revise and analyse the discussion on Republic during the years of redemocratization in Argentina, through the articulation with another category in political theory: Populism. The contents and meanings of the republican demand that are associated with populism are analysed on the editions of one of the most important Argentinian newspapers during the second government of Carlos Saúl Menem (1995-1999) and the government of Aliança (1999-2001). More specifically, the revision of the first stage of republican criticism centered in one of its main components: the matter of corruption associated to the moral issue.
