Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate seed germination, biometric indexes and nodulation of Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) Morong seedlings grown on different regional substrates plus samples of the B horizon of a Yellow Latosol. The treatments were constituted of the following proportions (v/v) of three residues (bagana of carnauba, organic compost and rice straw): soil: 0:100; 20:80; 40:60; 60:40; 80:20 and arranged in a factorial scheme (3 x 5), with ten repetitions. Tamboril seedlings were evaluated by percentage of emergence, germination speed index, biometric indexes, Dickson quality index and seedling nodulation. The addition of organic residues in the ratio 23:77 (residues: soil) provided an increase of 97.92% in the emergence of tamboril seedlings. Tamboril seedlings grown with substrates plus organic compost: soil (43:57) showed the highest Dickson Quality index (2.36). The addition of organic residues stimulated the natural nodulation of tamboril with substrate in the proportion of 35:65 (organic residues: soil).
