Factors related with management practices adoption in successional agroforestry systems in northern Mato Grosso state

Agroforestry is considered one of the most complete land occupations, mainly due its potential of conciliated food production and biodiversity preservation. This paper aimed to identify, through interviews, the factors related to management practices adoption in agroforestry systems by a group of 50 farmers in the city of Nova Guarita, Mato Grosso. All the farmers planted agroforestry in 201 0. The results indicate that the management practices adoption is manly related to plantation goals, beyond issues related to farmer’s previous values and experiences with diversified systems. Properties concrete conditions related to man power, products commercialization and enablement were are also related to management practices.
