This study aimed to evaluate the use of organic compost from agroindustrial residues, in the lettuce and cabbage seedlings production, comparing it to a commercial substrate and washed sand (control). The growth of agronomic variables evaluated were: plants height, number of leaves, plants fresh and dry weight. For all variables analyzed were no significant differences. The organic compost showed similar or better results than the commercial substrate, indicating the possibility of their use in growingvegetables.
