This article proposes a reflection on aspects of the documentation of performative works through sound, raising questions about material culture, ephemerality, and listening. Among the possibilities of documentation and accessibility for the perfomring arts, I discuss the role of listening in relation to the documentary record, mostly centered on visuality. Finally, I address the possibilities of recording through coding and the use of the binaural capture technique in conjunction with the use of headphones, as a means of immersive access to artistic performances through a three-dimensional listening experience.
