The Museum of Natural Sciences - MUCIN - Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) is located in Imbé, north coast of Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Specialized in marine and coastal fauna, he has worked in his expositions topics related to the composition of these ecosystems, highlighting their biodiversity and discussing sustainability and conservation, as well as cultural and natural heritage. We discuss in this work, the paradigm shift of this space from the constructionof the dialogue with its visitors, made feasible through exhibitions and educational actions. The practice of such activities contributes to a change and expansion of the function of the MUCIN.Downloads
