Abstract

This article presents some reflections on memory, history and the right to hear and tell stories. History and memory are Human Rights? Is the knowledge of past, present and future, a right of men and of different social groups? I tried to answer these questions with voice and vision of a storyteller who also studied to become an accountant in history. These discussions started from the research conducted for the preparation of the dissertation: "Whoever tells a tale, increases by one: storytelling in the Federal District (1991-2011). As Walter Benjamin says (1994): "You can only tell if there is a community of listeners," for telling and listening is part of the word, as explained by Hassane Kouyaté: "The word belongs half to the speaker and the listener half - so it is the word. " The storyteller is a character that can be found between the lines, gaps in the official history that has little value to the anonymous and secondary subjects. Everyone has the right to hear and tell stories, sharing their memories and recounting history.
