The idea of this article is to present a brief, albeit slightly complete, presentation of the general philosophical territory of Complex Realism. This is not a unified movement or a school, but an attitude turned ordered by us of some basic and propositional precepts, and the identification of some philosophical, theoretical and systemic attitudes to be avoided. We will begin with an operative definition of philosophy in terms of an ontology of communication to delimit (or, better, to extend the scope) of our investigation. Through this, we offer an outline of what we mean by “Complex Realism”, going through precepts such as irreductions, ontological work, metadifference, contingency and stratification. The objective is to show how to make basal research in ontology and metametaphysics flourish in the territory of Complex Realism with epistemic isonomy and a minute attention to the relationships between philosophy, politics, science and other social systems.
