The present work intends to approach the translation made by the Spanish poet León Felipe of Song of Myself, by Walt Whitman, in order to analyze it based on its links with the Spanish Civil War and the experience of exile. It is proposed to reflect on the recreation of both the poem and the Whitmanian lyrical self, addressing them as lyrical responses to the traumatic experience of war and exile.
