Abstract

By systematizing the knowledge produced, with the Social and Forensic Anthropology Research Group (GIASF) in exhumation processes in the states of Morelos and Coahuila during 2016 and 2017, this paper looks to offer an answer for the question: Wich is the role of a social anthropologist in the forensic search and exhumation processes? (Ferrándiz, 2010). In doing so, I offer a set of reflections around the role of the clandestine and common graves in the forced disappearance mechanism in Mexico; as well as the symbolic effects produced by the graves, the forensic findings and the possibility of identification of people.
