ARMED VIOLENCE IN SCHOOLS: EXPRESSION OF THE ESTRANGED SOCIAL RELATIONS IN MANIPULATIVE CAPITALISM

Abstract

 Armed Violence in Schools is a phenomenon that has grown significantly in recent years in Brazil, with the year 2023 being notable for the number of cases recorded, i.e. 12 episodes of this type of violence. As such, it presents complex challenges for society as a whole, which is why this study was carried out with the aim of analyzing the characteristics of armed violence in schools in Brazil, in order to provide information that can contribute to planning actions to tackle it. This is a qualitative, exploratory study, whose information was obtained through documentary research, supported by the dialectical-critical method. This violence, practiced by men, is an expression of the strange social relations in manipulative capitalism, which articulates and condenses not only the contradictory relations of class, but also of sex and race, which in an interwoven way constitute a system of exploitation, domination and oppression. This system, in times of crisis and the advance of neo-conservatism, uses different strategies to affirm and legitimize certain values that contribute to the reproduction of violence.
