Socio-cultural practices disseminated at the National Meeting of Research in Information Science

mapping of scientific productions presented in the Information and Memory Working Group (2017 – 2019)

Abstract

Objective analyzed, by mapping the work carried out at the National Research Meeting in Information Science, as shown in the socio-cultural practices of Brazil. It constitutes a corpus of search with 33 scientific productions, notified in the Information and Memory Working Group between 2017 and 2019 and retrieved from the curricula, with emphasis on the objectives of the released works. Performs a content analysis of the selected scientific productions. He observes that Information Science has researched socio-cultural practices as a source of information, aiming to disseminate and preserve these practices. He realizes that the productions on cultural practices published in the annals of the event illustrate an expressive portion of the country's culture, highlighting that the productions on the cultural practices of Brazil at this meeting grew in the year 2018, expanding the discussion of culture in Science of Information. It concludes that the nation that disseminates cultural elements, aspires to safeguard the memory and cultural identity, not only of social agents and institutions, but of valuable conjuncture elements for the understanding of its history.
