In this article we establish a contrast between, on the one hand, an epistemological and political critique of certain discourses claiming to be scientific; and, on the other hand, the wide and confusing world of scientific denialism. To make this contrast clear, we analyze the debate on the effectiveness of the use of antidepressants in childhood and the arguments presented to support this criticism. We explain how the resort to ignorance and strategic certainty operates to defend the prescription of these drugs, mainly in post-pandemic times; and we discuss the silencing and disqualification that biological psychiatry has made of the critical studies on its procedures. Biological psychiatry has invalidated these studies by inappropriately labeling them as a manifestation of denialism.
