Da modernidade incompleta à modemidade-mundo

Abstract

The author carries out a theoretical reflexion of historical- conceptual nature about Latin American modernity, by showing it as discourse which tranforms itself throughout history as related to social, economic and political events and by assuming differentiated forms. He also shows that the construction of nationalities was problematic in Latin America where a domination framework remains inaltered at the end of XX Century. According to him, the affirmation of differences must be qualified in the globalized world of "hierarchical pluralism ’’.
