METHODOLOGICAL PLURALISM IN ASTRONOMY TEACHING: TRENDS INFERRED FROM THE ANALYSIS OF NATIONAL PUBLICATIONS

Abstract

This paper brings the results of a research that aimed to investigate trends related to teaching methodologies used in Astronomy education at various levels of education in the country, inferred from the analysis of national publications. To this end, publications since the year 2000 present in four prominent national periodicals were considered. Despite the small number of articles that indicate target audience and teaching methodology, there is a varied methodological list, which corroborates the defense of the use of methodological pluralism in Astronomy teaching. The present study represents the initial portion of a larger research, to be developed over the next few years, which will aim to identify the most suitable methodologies for the varied contents of Astronomy in Basic Education.
