Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file must be in the PDF format.

Author Guidelines

TEXT FORMATING

The submitted articles must be without the names of the authors and their affiliations; must be written in one of the formats .doc or .docx; and all its figures and tables must appear together with the main text, forming a single document.

After (and if) the article has been accepted by the Journal, the article text written in .doc or .docx may be substituted by a Latex version, by the author, if convenient - if not, the article text will be converted by RPF itself. The article text must comply to the following terms:

Type of File:

1. Latex format, extension .tex (only after acceptance by the Journal): the template of Journal of the Physics Teacher can be obtained here (the link opens the site overleaf and presents the template - to use it in overleaf the author needs to copy its content and open in a personal project)

2. Word format (extension .doc or .docx): the template can be found here. 

Attention: The use of the furnished template expedites the evaluation process.

Citations and Notes:

  1. Citations with up to 3 (three) lines must appear in the text paragraph between quotation marks;
  2. Citations with more than 3 (three) lines must appear detatched from the main text with 4 centimeters indentation;
  3. Explaining notes must appear as footnotes.

References:

  1. References use the ABNT format.

Figures, Tables and Equations:

  • Figures must be referenced in the main text as Figure 1, Figure 2, and so on. Their legend must come under the figure body;
  • Tables must be referenced in the mai text as Tabela 1, Tabela 2, and so on. Their legend must come over the table body;
  • Equations must be referenced as equation 1, equation 2, and so on.

Interested authors must send their article texts exclusively using the address http://periodicos.unb.br/index.php/rpf after being registered and after logging in. There is no limitation as to the number of submissions by authors.

UPLOAD OF THE EDITABLE VERSION

If the article was accepted by the Journal, it proceeds to the Editorial section. At this point, the article text must be uploaded in one of the following formats: .doc, .docx or Latex.

To make the upload  of the editable version (.doc, .docx, Latex), the author must:

  • Go to the section Evaluation, which is the present stage of the article;
  • In the section Editorial Decision, the author must upload the author's version by clicking on select file

     

 

LEITURA DE PROVAS

Ao receber sua versão editável, a revista irá criar a versão Latex que se adequa ao leiaute da RPF e solicitará que o autor faça a Leitura de Provas.

Para fazer a leitura de provas, o autor deve:

  • Entrar em sua página de autor;
  • Clicar no link Ativo (e selecionar o artigo que deseja fazer a leitura de provas, se houver mais de um);
  • Na página que aparece, na coluna SITUAÇÃO (à direita do nome do artigo) deve estar escrito: EM EDIÇÃO - EDIÇÃO DE TEXTO SOLICITADA. O autor deve clicar neste link;
  • Na nova página, na seção LEITURA DE PROVA, no ITEM 1. Autor, deve haver uma solicitação para que o autor faça a leitura do texto editado pela RPF;
  • Clique no ícone  e insira no corpo da mensagem de email que aparece (a ser enviada para o leitor de prova) todas as alterações que julgue convenientes relativas ao texto editado que lhe foi enviado (há um link à direita informando a formatação adequada para a solicitação de alterações - clique nele para se informar desta formatação);
  • Tendo escrito o texto da mensagem, clique em SALVAR E ENVIAR EMAIL se já tiver incluído todas as alterações, ou apenas em SALVAR se ainda for incluir mais considerações (se houver muitas modificações, recomenda-se salvar com alguma periodicidade, para não se perder o texto editado em função de oscilações na rede, etc.);
  • Uma vez enviada a mensagem com as alterações no texto da prova, clique no link CONCLUÍDA no ITEM 1. Autor à direita.

Está feita a sua leitura da prova do seu artigo. O leitor de prova irá proceder às alterações sugeridas pelo autor (tendo em vista as características da revista) e enviará o texto para publicação, não sendo mais necessária qualquer ação por parte do autor.
