SOUND ARCHEOLOGY: ANALYSIS OF SOUND ART PIECES PRESENTED IN BRAZILIAN TERRITORY
Abstract
Over the last 50 years, sound art has gained space in galleries and is widely dissemi-
nated on the internet. Based on the archeology of discourse analysis by Michael Fou-
cault, the concepts of discourse, history and memory present in his works are discussed.
Once, the enunciates present on art pieces are in relationship with other in network,
the archeologic analysis became an important methodologic tool. Articulating other
concepts like confession device, fantastic literature, indigenous literature, and the in-
sólito as fear irradiate on sertanista culture, it was analyzed the enunciate-event find
in documentary Curupira: Creature of Woods (2020) of sound artist Felix Blume. It is
necessary to rethink our listening modes on contemporary context, once that we re-
produce histories and myths without reflect how they were constructed. The discus-
sion about listening exercise throw sound art pieces show to us a way of learning that
is close to an oral tradition of indigenous people.
