Résumé

Este artigo discute o conceito de ambiente na área da psicologia ambiental, em especial na psicologia ecológica, salientando a interdependência entre componentes ambientais e a bidirecionalidade da relação homem-ambiente. São revistas as concepções de ambiente de Lewin (1951/1965), Barker (1968) e Bronfenbrenner (1979), que embora divergindo entre si, compartilham daqueles pressupostos. Algumas limitações metodológicas são apontadas quanto a planejamentos de pesquisas dentro da perspectiva ecológica, tais como a dificuldade em captar e analisar simultaneamente todos os aspectos ambientais que interdependentemente afetam o comportamento humano, bem como em verificar simultaneamente a bidirecionalidade da relação homem-ambiente.
