Résumé

Esta revisão teve por objetivo explorar a literatura referente acomportamento de cuidado entre crianças, com vistas a obter uma visãosobre os resultados disponíveis e a indicar, a partir deles, direções em que o estudo desse comportamento seria mais produtivo. A análise dos estudos revistos visou identificar evidências sobre a ocorrência do comportamento de cuidado entre crianças, relações com idade e sexo dos sujeitos, variações e contextos culturais, bases biológicas e efeitos sobre o desenvolvimento. Discute-se a questão da categorização desse tipo de comportamento, levantada pela heterogeneidade de termos e categorias encontrados na literatura, e conclui-se pela necessidade de estudos descritivos como base para a elaboração de um sistema de categorias adequado.
