Abstract

Historical trends in psychology and school psychology are
traced which helped establish Brazilian psychology, including school psychology.
Its remarkable progress during the past 25 years has enabled
psychology to reach the third of five levels of development. The status of
school psychology is compared to that of other nations. Possible avenues
for the continued development of school psychology are suggested.
