THE STORIES NOBODY TELLS.
THE FAMILY MITH IN THE LIFE OF THE NEUROTIC
Abstract
The Stories Nobody Tells are defined as specific subjects,
never explicitly discussed by the family, but experienced by its
members as a curse with disturbing effects. These stories may be considered
as a network of family myths that guarantees its unity and harmony
against any attempt by the members toward individualism. The
family myth so created is discussed in the light of Freud and Lacan's
contributions, such as "Dichtung", in which unconscious connotations
about women and death represent an important subject in psychoanalytical
investigation.
