Transferência de funções discriminativas em classes de estímulos equivalentes

A relação entre equivalência de estímulos e equivalência funcional (indicada pela transferência de funções discriminativas) foi estudada com quatro crianças normais, através de uma discriminação simultânea simples com estímulos visuais A1 (S+) e A2 (S-), seguida de tarefas de escolha segundo modelo em que A1, A2 e um novo estímulo A3, foram relacionados à s comparações B1/B2/B3, respectivamente, e estes últimos foram usados como estímulos nodais, relacionados à s comparações C1/C2/C3, e aos modelos D1/D2/D3, respectivamente. Sondas testaram equivalência de estímulos e transferência de funções discriminativas para os pares B1/B2, C1/C2 e D1/D2. Dois sujeitos mostraram equivalência de estímulos e transferência de funções, o terceiro exibiu transferência de funções mas não equivalência de estímulos e o quarto não mostrou nenhum destes efeitos. Os resultados são consistentes com a interpretação de que equivalência de estímulos e equivalência funcional são processos comportamentais distintos, e o primeiro implica o segundo mas não o reverso.
