Soberania Alimentar na América Latina
agendas, prioridades e desafios para a sociedade civil

O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre a construção da soberania alimentaria na América Latina frente às recentes transformações, novos atores, agendas, prioridades e desafios. Para cumprir com esse objetivo foram realizadas três conversatorios entre maio e outubro de 2022 remotamente com algumas redes e organizações nacionais de países como Colômbia, Equador, Brasil e República Dominicana. Foram discutidas questões relacionadas ao entendimento da soberania alimentar de cada organização, movimento ou coletivo, quais as principais ações, desafios, perspectivas e quais outros atores são importantes para a construção de suas ações. Os resultados indicam que a soberania alimentar é amplamente entendida como o direito de povos e comunidades de definir suas políticas alimentares, priorizando métodos sustentáveis, acesso equitativo aos recursos produtivos e respeito às tradições culturais. As organizações participantes destacaram a importância da agroecologia, da preservação de sementes nativas e dos circuitos curtos de comercialização como estratégias para resistir à pressão do agronegócio e das políticas neoliberais.
