Abstract

This article aims to present and discuss the functioning of the Ligue 180 Woman's Service Center, based on pioneering research carried out with 31 reports (32 women) of domestic, family and intimate violence of affection recorded between January and March 2025, in dialogue with on-site observations in the context of the restructuring of the service. After brief introduction about the creation of Ligue 180, in 2005, as a federal public policy executed by a private company, the article focuses: (i) the interaction between the victim and the attendant - (ii) the discursive elaboration of the complaint - and (iii) the emerging tensions between humanized, specialized and gender-based care with the institutional parameters of formalization and referral of the complaint to the Service Network. The analyses aim to contribute to the debate on Call Center services in the context of public policies to combat violence against women, highlighting some of their potentials and limits. It is argued that the success of Ligue 180 lies in the quality of listening and in the good mediation made by the attendants between the victims and the network, fundamental for breaking the cycle of violence within the scope of the Lei Maria da Penha. Its effectiveness depends on the ability to preserve the experience of the victims, strengthen respectful reception and minimize the harmful effects of bureaucratic uniformity, which tends to subordinate the experience of violence to the institutional frameworks of the bodies that receive the complaints.
