Abstract

Purpose ”“ The article analyzes the transportation sector and dispute settlement within ANTT.

Methodology/approach/design ”“ Using descriptive approach, this article exposes the existing regulations and suggests different measures.

Findings ”“ It was found that many initiatives have been taken by ANTT, however there is much more to do on dispute settlement strategies.

Practical implications ”“ The article maintains that the following suggestions reduce rail sector disputes in courts, which can generate efficiency gains.

Originality/value ”“ There are few studies about the rail regulatory law in Brazil, and the dispute settlement at administration level. This study aims to stimulate the debate on that issue.
