In this work, we seek to bring to knowledge the importance of plant resources as part of the collection of knowledge and practices of traditional peoples and communities in the region of Baixo Tocantins, northeast of Pará, Brazil. In the study, we approached a concrete situation in which its strategies to ensure health and nutrition are verified, as well as the cure practices for the symptoms of Covid-19. The research is part of a larger project, started in 2018, whose objective is to understand how large enterprises and the environmental disasters they cause, affect the autonomy and food quality of riverside and quilombolas, distributed in floodplains and firm ground areas of the region. To develop the objective, we conducted ethnographic research, with a quantitative and qualitative approach in 24 communities in the municipalities of Abaetetuba, Igarapé Miri, Limoeiro do Ajuru and Moju, in which we selected 86 people with symptoms of the disease. The analysis data allows to know the socio-biodiversity and confirm the importance of cassava and other plant resources in the diet and collective health, which contribute to the sustainability and updating of an ecological culture, consistent with its needs.
