The aim of this study was to evaluate the dynamics of accumulation of mass and nutrients of millet and assess the most appropriate stage to manage it in order to enable greater inflow of mass and nutrients to the soil, aiming to maximize their potential as green manure. The study was conducted under field conditions in Dourados-MS and Itaquiraí-MS, both areas in transition under agroecological agroecosystem. Millet (BRS 1501) was sown directly in Dourados and after soil preparation by a disc harrow and a leveling in Itaquiraí, both without fertilization. Sowings were made in the period from October to November. The treatments consisted of different samples collected at 45, 60,75, 90 and 105 days after emergence (DAE) in a completely randomized design with four replications. Millet showed high accumulation of biomass and nutrients, is showing very promising as green manure production systems under ecological bases. The cut of millet in the dough stage provided greater accumulation of biomass and nutrients in relation to the flowering stage.
