Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of management use in strawberry crop yield components and disease occurrence. The experiment was conducted at Embrapa Clima Temperado, Southern Brazil, in 2008. Two cultivars were evaluated in an ecological transitional management system. In this experiment, two grouts, bordalesa syrup 0.5% and Curamor 5%, were assessed and compared witha control plot. Fruit production distribution was not altered by foliar applications. Cultivar Albion proved to be interesting choice for an increase of fruit supply in the summer months. Weekly sprays of grout on plants proved to be unnecessary because of the low disease incidence in these plants, and because of the adoption of a set of management practices during the production cycle. ‘Albion’ yielded a greater fruit number than ‘Camarosa’, but the average fruit masses were similar. Cultivars Camarosa and Albion were Gnomonia stain tolerant in well-managed systems.
