El discurso antirracista y la construcción de un argumento decolonial. Un abordaje desde el Análisis Multimodal del Discurso

La denuncia a la Real Academia Española en relación con una entrada del Diccionario de la lengua española (2001) considerada como racista (“trabajar como un negro”) desató el debate público sobre el racismo en Uruguay. En este artículo presento algunos de los resultados de una investigación mayor en la que se explora cómo el debate sobre el racismo se reproduce y circula en los medios a partir del audiovisual de la campaña antirracista “Borremos el racismo del lenguaje” que se difundió a principios del 2013. Los resultados que presento en esta oportunidad son los que surgen del análisis multimodal del discurso (Kress y van Leeuwen, 1996, 2001; O’Halloran, 2012; van Leeuwen, 2012), y evidencian la construcción de un argumento a través de dos ejes: el énfasis en las personas y la relación entre pasado y presente, a través de la apelación a la afectividad y a la exhortación o demanda a formar parte de un reclamo colectivo.
