Resumen

Este trabajo recorre las bases teóricas e históricas de la Lingüística Crítica – una teoría centrada en las correlaciones entre estructura lingüística y estructura social. El estudio se configura en el ámbito de los Estudios Críticos del Discurso, un área de la Lingüística que se propone investigar cuestiones de poder, ideología, hegemonía y dominación presentes en el lenguaje. El trabajo propone volver a visitar los fundamentos teóricos de la Lingüística Crítica, sus conceptos fundantes y su método de análisis del discurso. Par eso, recurre a trabajos fundadores de la teoría, especialmente Language and Control (1979) e Language as Ideology (1979), con el fin de esclarecer las posiciones asumidas por sus proponentes y relacionarlas con las categorías que componían el pensamiento de una lingüística crítica.
