DE LA CRÍTICA AL DISEÑO:
“TRANSFORMACIÓN” EN LA OBRA DE GUNTHER KRESS

“Transformación” es un concepto clave en el pensamiento de Gunther Kress. En este artículo discuto tres concepciones del término en su obra. La primera (transformación social) es central a toda su labor intelectual mientras que las otras dos (transformación como operación lingüístico-discursiva y como producto ineludible de la comunicación) responden a dos momentos de su pensamiento: el enfoque crítico (Lingüística Crítica y Análisis Crítico del Discurso) y el enfoque del diseño (Socio-semiótica Multimodal), respectivamente. El recorrido conceptual que propongo muestra la relevancia del concepto de transformación en su obra y sus implicancias epistemológicas, políticas y éticas en la investigación social.
