In this paper, adopting the French Discourse Analysis perspective, with emphasis on Maingueneau's reflections on the notion of constituent discourse, we deal with some particularities of the constitution of kardecist spiritist discourse. More precisely, we try to demonstrate that, constituting itself from other constituent discourses (the religious, scientific and philosophical discourse), the kardecist spiritist discourse takes a paratopic position to legitimize itself, simulating to overcome the limits of these others discourses, what legitimizes it in a special way and gives it special authority. In addition, we analyze the figure of the "spiritist medium", considering it as a case of paratopia of identity, which also reinforces the paratopic condition of kardecist spiritist discourse as a constituent discourse.
