Aristotle. Justice. Politics. Ethics. Law.Abstract
This paper intends to analyze how Aristotle develops the argument that connects justice and law; for this task, the books I and II of his Politics will be analyzed, since these texts offer us a more direct understanding of the central issue that will be developed here. Since Aristotle also deals with this fundamental theme in books II and V of the Nicomachean Ethics, visiting important passages of this work will also be necessary. Therefore, the hypothesis to be developed in this brief study focuses on understanding the place of justice and law in the sphere of political life, as well as on the way in which individual virtues fulfill their political purposes in improving the moral character of individuals who practice law of the city, a context of different levels of human self-sufficiency.
