Este trabalho pretende levar a cabo um estudo do tema da descontinuidade no pensamento do Michel Foucault fundamentalmente no período genealógico. O tema da descontinuidade, sem dúvida, é um tema que pouco a pouco tem chamado a atenção de um grande número de estudiosos da obra foucaultiana. A visão do poder que manteve Foucault será o centro de interesse por onde levaremos a cabo esta investigação. Por essa razão, o presente escrito situa-se dentro das publicações que se deram no período chamado genealógico dentro da produção intelectual do pensador francês.
